Why did it not ask to import my W-2? Can I get a refund of my $79.98?

When you enter the employer EIN in the W-2 interview, it will tell you if it's available for import and start the import process.    There are 2 important factors, however.   First of all, your employer has to be a participating partner in that W-2 importing process, AND the employer has to have it ready for importing.   An employer has until January 31 to provide a W-2.   Even when importing, it often asks for information from the actual W-2 to verify your identity, etc.  Also see this FAQ:

Did you already file, or is your return still in preparation?  Usually TurboTax Support says that continuing with the payment of Online TurboTax fees indicates acceptance of the product terms.   I don't work for TurboTax, so you'd need to discuss any fee issues directly with TurboTax Support.   They will open in 40 minutes.
