Why could I pay for my federal returns with the return but have to pay for my state returns? And if I can't change it anyway I could receive a Service code?

I messed up and went with self employed turbo tax. I'm not self employed. So I can I refrain from paying the $108 for.my state returns if I can't start over.

To remove self employed, you will need to clear your return and start over. As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online. Follow the directions in this FAQ here to do so.

Did you already file federal and have the federal fee deducted from your refund?   If you had filed state at the same time you could have had the state fee deducted too.  But if you are filing state after federal you have to pay the extra fees with a credit card.   You can only have the fees deducted from a federal refund.

What are you being charged for?  State isn't $108.  Did you upgrade to Self Employed version after you filed federal?
