Why can't I pay for turbo tax with refund? When I select pay with refund it still asks for a credit card

TurboTax needs a form of payment in case things go wrong with your refund.   TT wants to be paid in case there is a delay with your refund or in case the IRS reduces the refund or seizes it for back tax or child support.

Please make note that if your refund takes too long to arrive (IRS delays, etc.) then you will also be agreeing that the TurboTax fees can be extracted from your bank account even before your refund is issued by the IRS.  This comes as an unpleasant shock to many people every year.
