Why am I spending 100$ between State and Federal? Used to cost almost nothing. Now after paying 50$ for what I thought was everything it is saying I need to buy a state

The Downloaded Basic version doesn't include a state program ... that is an add on ... if you need to do a state then it is cheaper to upgrade to Deluxe ( which does include a state program) than it is to add a state to the Basic version.
