Why am I getting less than half of what Turbo Tax said I was getting?

Why did Turbo Tax show I was receiving $2,499.00, but right before signing to send them out, it shows my refund amount at $1.088.00?

Maybe the 2,499 was federal and state combined?  At the end Turbo Tax shows you the total of federal and state but that is only for your info.  You will get each one separately.  Check your actual 1040 tax return line 35a or 37 for tax due.  And check state return too.

If you did not file your return as yet then review your return again thoroughly to make sure your Wages & Income, Deductions, and Credits are entered correctly.

If you did not efile as yet, you can also Clear & Start Over by following these steps:

1. Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return, if you haven’t already
2. Select Tax Tools from the left menu, then Clear & Start Over
3. Answer Yes to confirm

If you filed your return and you believe there were mistakes, then you can amend your return on February 23rd when the IRS releases the Forms you need to amend.
