Why am I getting a message saying I need to fill out a Schedule 1, Additional Income and Adjustments to Income form?

You must have indicated some type of income/adjustments to income that requires Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 is a new tax form includes the following income and adjustments:

Unemployment

Alimony

Self employment income

HSA deduction

Student loan interest paid

If you have low income and do not wish to upgrade, I suggest the Free File Edition. While the name is similar to Free Edition, there are no upgrade costs.

To you qualify

Make less than $34,000 a year or

Qualify for the Earned Income Credit or

Active military making less than $66,000
