If you got an IP PIN in the past then the IRS will issue you one each and every tax year going forward... it should have been mailed to you in January. So if your return is being rejected for a missing IP PIN you need to either get it from the IRS to efile or mail in the return. https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/retrieve-your-ip-pin
IRS won't put you in the IP PIN list if you do not request it.
Do not confuse the IP PIN with the self-selected PIN (five digits).
do not enter the self-selected PIN if you enter your AGI from last year.
It is one or the other.
