which tax product to use for:
1) qualified disaster area ( Lahaina fire ) to amend a 2nd time my 2023 tax to include casualty losses and net operating loss to carry forward into 2024.
2) 2nd amendment to 2023 done with free tax that didn't include NOL to carry forward... do I need to use a turbotax product for 2023 and if so do I include the entire 1040 work up along with 1040x
3) what product to use online for 2024 to include stocks and rental home sale?
Thank you!
Also I am blocked everywhere I turn on turbotax to talk to a live person who could possibly answer these Q's faster and easier ... how do I access these live people????
Aloha and thanks again
Casey
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can contact the TurboTax Support Phone Number
yeah, NO.
I called and got the run around by computer voice unable to 1) get advice on product for my needs and 2) ability to talk to a human and 3) told I need to upgrade a product to speak to someone and 4) when exploring doing that found that the live person wasn't capable of answering any but most basic Q's... so NO COMPLETE FAIL and run around by turbotax very very disappointing and frustrated considering the amount of $$$$ they generate with this service ( 4.1 billion ) you would think you could talk to a human who knew something besides the basics... just saying.
It says you're a tax expert would you care to talk about this with me? I am open to that...
Yes, it is possible to amend a 2023 tax return that you didn't file using TurboTax, but it can get very tricky. You would have to purchase a 2023 Desktop version of TurboTax, and recreate your return exactly as filed, then begin the amend. Since you are saying this is the second time you'd be amending, that makes it even more complicated, because you'd have to complete the return exactly as it stands as of the last adjustment made by the IRS.
Our TurboTax Live Experts do not handle this situation.
You would need TurboTax Online Premium to handle stocks and a rental home sale.
