In 2025 I sold $10,000.00 dollars worth of a Vanguard Wellesley Fund. This is a personal fund and NOT an IRA. I have entered all the 1099DIV information in the Income Section for this particular fund as I have done in Turbo Tax for years. There is a section that says this is designated Long Term. The Proceeds are $10,00.00 and it shows a Gain of $2300.00. If this sale or the Gain from it needs to be reported in this year's return I don't know where I need to go in Turbo Tax 2025 to enter that information. I'd appreciate help with this

Did you get the Vanguard 1099 statement? I haven't got mine yet, I keep checking online everyday. It is probably a Consolidated 1099. The sale should be in the 1099B section. You need to use Online Premium or any Desktop program to enter investment sales.
Enter a 1099 B under
Federal Taxes on left or Personal (Home & Business)
Wages & Income (Personal Income)
Then scroll down to Investment Income
Then Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B) - click Start
Then click +Add Investments at the bottom

Sales of assets such as stocks or mutual funds are reported on 1099-B and entered under Investments in TT.
I appreciate the response. When I go to the Investment Section which does say 1099-B I can't find any place to enter the sale information. I've gone back in and the Investment Section takes me to the same funds listed in the Dividends Section above. When I go into the spot for the Wellesley Fund I see only the fields for Dividends which I have already entered but I don't see any field nor am I presented with any questions about selling part of the fund.
Thanks for your response. I did get my Vanguard Consolidated 1099 effective 01-24-2026 online. I'm going to study your instructions further but your detail does get me to a different place so maybe I can enter the necessary sale information.
Yes last year they changed the way to enter 1099. I don't like the new way at all. Too many clicks and screens to click on and go through. And sometimes it seems like it’s starting over. But don’t worry keep going, it will take you to enter a new investment.
When you get the list of Interest and Dividends combined, Go to the bottom and click on +Add Investments, then import or skip import, THEN....should be a screen with 5 boxes, pick Interest, Dividends, Stocks Bonds Mutual Funds, Cryptocurrency, or Other
Hope that helps you get there or close.
Volvo Girl,
Thanks for your help with this. I did follow your instructions and was able to create the necessary 1099-B form for sale.
