As suggested to another poster's question, I've tried going to Interest under Personal Income but I can't add it there unless it comes from a financial institution. The interest is substantial so I really need to get it in.

Some other steps for the Desktop program. If you get a list of all your Interest and Dividends go to the bottom and click on + Add Investments
Then you get an import screen, go to the bottom and click on Skip Import
Then you get a screen with 5 boxes, pick Interest and Continue
Just enter IRS for the payer and put the amount in box 1 like my screenshot above
You can enter this interest as if you had received a form 1099-INT from a bank.
In TurboTax Online, you can enter your form 1099-INT by following these steps:
For the institution use IRS and report the interest. No need for EIN or other input.
I have the Home & Business version too. Yes click on the Interest Box. Then just enter IRS for the payer and put the amount in box 1. You shouldn't need a EIN or anything else.
Volvo Girl, I can't get to the page you are showing. When I click on Interest, it just takes me to a page to import from a financial institution.

I didn't see your post when I posted. On the import screen Scroll down to the bottom and pick Skip Import. It is off the screen so you have to scroll down.
1099-int. if TurboTax bugs you for an EIN try a dummy number like 36-7654321. it's not transmitted.
Made you a screen shot
OK, I figured it out. I had to go to the Interest tab, Skip the Import then I could select add a 1099-INT there. Not the easiest to figure out.
