Where is the "Other Situations" menu in turbo tax to upload a pdf file?

If you are asking how to get to Other Tax Situations in TurboTax you can use the steps listed below.

In TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Click on Personal (if you are using Home & Business)
  2. Below those tabs you will see a white bar that goes across the TurboTax screen you will see Other Tax Situations (it is after Deductions & Credits)
  3. Click on Other Tax Situations tab and the screen will appear Other Tax Situations
  4. You can scroll down this screen to the situation you are looking for
  5. Click on Start or Update next to the situation you are looking for

In TurboTax Online:

  1. In the left panel of your screen click on Federal
  2. Then scroll down to Other Tax Situations
  3. Your screen will say Your uncommon tax situations
  4. Scroll down to find the situation you are looking for

You didn't answer their question. They are trying to upload PDFs of their tax documents and according to your own help page, you pick "other" instead of linking to financial institution or importing from a tax program. What if your financial institution mails you your year end forms and you don't bank online? How do we import those? We can save them as PDFS but the desktop version only allows for W2s to be PDFs. Why do we have to enter this all manually? This is ridiculous.

Transferring Last Year's PDF (Desktop & Online)

  1. TurboTax Online:

  2. TurboTax Desktop:
    1. Choose File
    2. New Tax Return, then
    3. Select Use a tax return that's on my computer.
    4. Select the PDF file from your computer when prompted to transfer.

Thanks. I want to upload all my documents like 1099s and 1098s etc. It let me upload the W2 as a PDF but that's it. Any other document it wants as a TXF file (I don't have) or I have to connect with the financial institution online and not all of them are in your system. It'd be way more consumer friendly and easier if we can upload our forms and statements from our PCs in PDF format.
