Where are you looking for your tax return? If you owed federal tax then nothing is going to show up on the IRS Where's My Refund site. That site only shows information if you are getting a refund, not if you owed tax due. Your only proof that you paid your tax due will be your own bank/credit card records. TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your tax due.
I am looking for my return on Turbo tax. It doesnt even showed that it was completed or filed anymore. All I can find is my state return.
After a return has been efiled and accepted, it can sometimes take the return PDF a while to update and become available at the Tax Home landing screen. If you can't use the Download/print button at the Tax Home or the "Download/print the PDF" link in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents", OR if you're getting incomplete documents when you use one of those methods, here's an alternate way to print by opening the filed return back up to print at the Print Center.
NOTE: When you open your return back up, do not make any changes in it if it's already been filed. If you later have to amend the return, it has to start off exactly as it was when it was originally filed.
NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN EVERY YEAR ... DO IT NOW !!!!
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf with and without the worksheets for both the fed and state(s) AND print a paper copy of it for your records.
Save the PDF to more than one place like your hard drive and at least one removable storage medium(like a thumb drive) for safekeeping.
That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
Save the PDF
