Where do you put in expenses for uniforms?
Confusing.. Under expenses there is no place for uniforms. Everything is either office equipment, vehicles or trailers. I have uniforms that can be taken off. i am a chef and had to purchase chef jackets, chef caps and chef pants.

JOB RELATED EXPENSES
Only the amount of job-related expenses that are OVER 2% of your adjusted gross income get added to your list of itemized deductions, which still must exceed your standard deduction in order to make a difference on your return. This is kind of a hard deduction to get. If you need to enter these, go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Employment Expenses>Job-Related Expenses.
Note: Your 2017 tax return is the last time you will be able to use the job-related expenses. Tax law changes go into effect for 2018 and beyond that eliminate this deductions.

Where do you put in expenses for uniforms?
To enter employee business expenses -
- Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
- Click on Deductions and Credits
- Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
- Scroll down to Employment Expenses
- On Job-Related Expenses, click on the start or update button
Or enter employee business expenses in the Search/Find box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to employee business expenses
