If the lump sum was transferred to you incident to a divorce, via your divorce decree, this is a transfer of marital assets and is not a taxable event. You do not report this on your tax return.

Per a divorce decree I am to receive all of the Ex's pension upon his death. He was drawing his pension while alive so the question I have is that when I report for taxes is the pension seen as such or is it considered as RMD income for me?
