If she received a 6 digit Identity Protection PIN from the IRS, you enter the IP PIN using this procedure -
To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin
So I did these steps. But this number is for my daughter a dependent. The question turbo tax asks is “did you or “my wife” experience identity theft and receive an identity protection pin? The answer is no… it my daughter who did. So do I need to include her pin somehow as she is claimed as a dependent on our taxes
Did you claim your daughter as a dependent on your tax return? If the IP question is only asking for you or your spouse's IP PIN and not a dependent's then you need to check the My Info section for the status of your daughter's dependence.
