I'm running a wee bit behind on taxes, so I'm just now getting around to my 2018 taxes. I have a 1099-G for 2016 taxes that were filed in 2018 getting a refund in 2018.
I'm not sure where to enter this. 2017 taxes were filed early 2019.
And where do I enter my extension payments which I always send in on-time for the correct filing year.
Thanks!

To enter the 1099-G for a tax refund (you would only enter the 2016 refund if you itemized on your 2015 federal return)
It would be reported on your 2018 tax year return (if it needs to be reported at all) since that is the year you received it.
Click Federal
Click Wages & Income
Scroll down to "Other Common Income" and click Show more
Scroll down to "Refunds received for State/Local Tax Returns" and click Start
To enter tax payments:
Click Federal
Click Deductions & Credits
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click Show more
I think I need to clarify that I am using the desktop version.
Those steps work for both the Online and Desktop program. Or do you have the Home & Business program? Then instead of Federal you have Personal and Business tabs at the top. Use Personal for Federal.
