The IRS has just begun sending out refunds for the simpler returns (single taxpayers who had the simplest tax returns, such as those filed by taxpayers who did not claim children or any refundable tax credits). You will not "get back" $10,200. Your income will only be reduce by $10,200 for tax calculations. The IRS will then re-calculated your refund based on that income adjustment.
do you pay income taxes in your state? some states follow federal law and exempt the same amount of UC as the IRS others do not. for those that do some will refund automatically, others want an amended return. check your state's department of revenue website for info on this
It's not showing up on my tax form and all I put down is renters rebate
Nothing is going to change on your forms on TurboTax (TT). Neither the IRS or TT employees have access to your tax forms on TT. The IRS will send you your additional refund. Then they'll send you a letter explaining the changes. But your tax forms, at your TT account will remain the same; unless you change them.
