Using the desktop version of 2021, open the .tax file. Then save it with FILE - SAVE. Close the desktop program and try importing it into the online version again. Also make sure it's the .tax file you're trying to import, and not the .pdf file.

Tried that already per the help instructions.  No luck.  Any other ideas?

It could be a case where the online version of TTX 2022 isn't ready for import from the desktop .tax file, for all I know. But you can use a USB thumb drive and copy the 2021 .tax file to another computer, and try it from there. If one browser doesn't work, try another, be it Edge, FireFox, or whatever.

Be aware also that the 2021 .tax file "MUST" be on the C: drive. We already know you can't import it to the online version otherwise.

And a FYI - have you used the Online version before?

If you used the Desktop program before you may not like the Online version.  It has less features and no Forms Mode.  All the Online versions do not have the same forms so you may need to upgrade to a higher version.  You can only do 1 return.  Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2022 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done.  In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something.  You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.

None of these suggestions works.  Any ideas how to get help from Intuit?  They only offer call backs and only to US numbers which doesn’t work either as I’m overseas at the moment so don’t have a US sim available.  Is there any way to do a chat or email help?
