When it asks did my children live outside of the US for any amount of time, and then it asks how many months? Is that how many months total if you added up the days?

If I was in the US for 3 weeks in March and 1 week in May and 1 week in June, is that 3 months? or 1 month?

It sounds like you and your children were only in the U.S. for a total of five weeks from what you described.  But what is the exact wording of the question?  And what part of the software are you in?   Is this for 2022?   Is it a question related to a credit for which the child had to be in the U.S. for at least six months?

I'm not sure what its related to, the question asks

"was child X in the US the entire year" 

Yes/no

and then 

"how many months did they live in the United States?"

and the drop down has 1-11 months.

If it said were they in the US for more than 6 months of course the answer is no. 

We were actually in the US more than 5 weeks but I supposed I need to add it all up rather then just knowing we were there some of Jan, some of Feb, Some of June and some of Aug and Nov.
