When I want to open a tax file, there are two files shown with two different dates. One has a ~ in front of the file name, and one doesn't, which should I use?

Didn't answer the question.  Two files, one with a   ~  in front of the file name, and one without, what's the difference.

The file with the tilde (~) in front is the temporary copy of your return while the main file. Temporary files will be deleted from your computer, while the other file will not.

If this does not help, please let us know.

The ~ is a tilde file. Those are temporary files that you normally don't see and normally are deleted. But now Turbo Tax is leaving them in the folder in case something happens like if your file gets corrupted or lost or your computer crashes. Then you can go back.  If you can't transfer from the regular file you can transfer from the ~ file.
