When I entered my self-employment income, my tax return amount decreased. should I not enter that income?

How much do I need to make from self employment before I am required to report it?

If self-employment income is your only income and you made $400 or more (after deducting expenses) then you are required to report the income.

Any amount of self-employment income needs to be reported if you have other income and are required to file a 2017 tax return.

Please view the TurboTax FAQ below for more information about 2017 filing requirements.
