When I enter my 1099G for Unemployment, the amount is not being offset by a credit for the amount of the Unemployment.

When I enter my 1099G for Unemployment compensation, the amount is not being offset by a credit for the amount. The IRS exception for $10K of Unemployment is not being applied. How do I make Turbo Tax prompt to make the adjustment.

For tax year 2022 there is not an unemployment compensation exclusion.  That was only available in tax year 2020.

Understood - I guess I addressed this incorrectly.

The Unemployment was a delayed PUA Benefit from 2021. It took the state almost a year to make the decision to pay out the monies.  How would this be recorded? Is is still considered normal Unemployment?

If you received a tax year 2021 form 1099-G for the PUA then that should be reported on your 2021 tax return.  Or if the 1099-G received is a 2022 form then that is reported on the 2022 return as Unemployment income.

The PUA is taxable income on a 2021 or 2022 tax return.
