When i added my baby that was born october 2018 the income tax credit only added $500 can you help clairfy because i thought the credit would be $2000.00.

Please revisit your answers regarding your baby. This happens most often because parents do not select the whole year when asked how long did he live with you. This will make him qualify as an Other Dependent, but not your Qualifying Dependent.

Click on My Info in the black on the lefthand side of your screen, then click edit next to your son. Walk back through the questions making sure you say he lived with you for the whole year and not just 2 or 3 months.
