The status is the same but you can go ahead and say you are single.

When filing taxes, and I was officially divorced in 2016, is my 2022 filing status single or divorced?

Your  MARITAL  status is Divorced ... it is not your FILING status.  The program asks your marital status first to help determing your filing status later.  Unless you have a qualifying dependent your FILING status should be SINGLE.
