When driving for Uber/Lyft, which version of TT is better: the On Line Self Employed or the CD version of TT Home and Business?

I used the Self Employed On Line version for 2018 taxes, but I would like to know which version is better for next year.

The TurboTax Online Self-Employed and CD/downloaded TurboTax Home and Business are essentially the same products.

One is not better than the other with regard to their functionality to create a complete and accurate tax return.  The main differences lie in the features and navigation within the programs.  The “look” of the programs will be similar to one another, but not identical.

With the CD/downloaded version, you can view any and all of your tax forms at any time using the Forms Mode.  This feature is not available online at this time.  My personal opinion is that this can be a valuable and useful feature.

If you choose to try the CD/downloaded version next year, be sure that you have saved your 2018 tax data file to your computer so that your information can be imported into your 2019 tax return.

Please see the following TurboTax article for more information comparing the two types of TurboTax programs.
