When asked if I received unemployment I stated no. Because of my answer it says I have to upgrade to turbo deluxe. Why?

WHen I answered No to the question it automatically told me I needed to upgrade from the free filing to the deluxe version. Both my wife and me are on social security and do not work.

If you are both on SS and have no other income then why are you completing an income tax return at all ???

If your only 2021 income has been Social Security then you are not required to file a tax return. Or did you hav some other income such as a pension, investment income, etc. etc.? Why are you preparing a tax return?
