When allocating exemptions & child tax credit on the injured spouse form, does the injured spouse get a bigger return by claiming all children?
We have 2 children, my husband's tax refund portion will go to student loan debt. I want to maximize my refund. My income wasn't much less than his, and it says I choose who to allocate exemptions and child tax credit to.

Yes, you probably would get a bigger refund if you allocate all the child to the inured spouse. The only situation where you might not be able to do so would be in a community property state.
