What should I do if the Employer's State ID number is missing on my W-2? I tried to leave it blank while filing my taxes but it wont let me.

Did you work in a state that has state income tax? If not, leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 empty in TurboTax. Don't enter anything. If your state does have state income tax, try using the federal ID number (EIN), without the hyphen.

Try putting the Federal ID number in the box for the state ID.  Or, if you only have one state's information being reported on your W-2 and there were no state taxes being withheld (box 17), then leave all the state boxes blank.
