What order do I do taxes in for multiple states?

I earned capital gains from land sales in two states in which I do not reside. My question is: What order do I prepare the taxes in? After federal taxes, do I do the state of residence, or do I do the other two states first?

Always start with your non-residency states first. Please see the below for more information:

See this TurboTax FAQ for instructions on completing non-resident state returns.  You'll note that the FAQ states that non-resident returns should always be done first: https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901271-how-do-i-file-a-nonresident-state-return
