What is the cost $$ of using turbotax deluxe today.

If you use Online TurboTax to prepare a 2018 return (which is the only tax year it can currently do), the price for Online Deluxe is 59.99 for a Federal return and 44.99 for a state return, if applicable.

NOTE:  If you choose to pay the fees out of the Federal refund, there is an additional service fee of 39.99 (44.99 for California filers.)   You avoid that fee by choosing to pay upfront with credit/debit card.

If you want to install the software on your computer, then for the desktop version of Deluxe (CD/download), if bought from TurboTax directly, the price is 79.99, and includes 1 state program.    There is a 24.99 fee to efile a state return in the desktop product.   Again, it's best to pay that fee with credit/debit card since there is the extra service fee as mentioned above if one chooses to pay the fee out of the Federal refund.    There is no state efile fee if one chooses to print and mail the state return.
