You may still need to file a tax return as "dependent of another". The TurboTax interview will ask you if someone else can claim you on their tax return and you respond "yes". However, your parent does not report your income on their tax return.

Here are guidelines for whether or not you need to file your own return. Remember, even if you are below the filing threshold, you may very well want to file and claim a potential tax refund.
