What does it mean when my NYS return is printed and ready to mail?

What does it mean when my NYS return says “printed, ready to mail” ?

It means you selected File by Mail and not E-file. The program believes you have printed it out and are going to mail it. Was that your intent? What is the status of your federal return?

My federal was accepted and is being processed. No it wasn’t my intentions but it gave me no other option for my state. Now it won’t let me pull up my state in order to print it.
