What do I do if my 18 year old child has a job and worked intermittently?

Do I add her as a dependant? There isn't an option for me to add her W-2 info. Or do I remove her and file her tax separately? Or am I allowed to add her as a dpendant and ALSO file for her separately?

If your dependent has a W-2 for his after-school job, etc. you do not include the information on your own return. You can still claim your child as a dependent on your own return.  He/she can file his own return for a refund of some of his withheld wages (he won’t get back anything for Social Security or Medicare), but MUST indicate on it that he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return.  (Supervise this closely or prepare it for him!)

If your dependent’s earnings were over $400 and were reported on a 1099Misc then he must file a return and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.  You may want to use this version of TT for that:

If your child is under the age of 19 as of December 31 (or under 24 and a full-time student) and didn't provide more than half of their own support, then you can still claim them as a dependent.

You would then file a separate return for her either if required, or to recover the taxes withheld.  When you prepare her return, you would need to indicate in the Personal Info section that someone else can claim me as a dependent.
