You could be getting a rejection for one of the following reasons:
- The vehicles information such as the purchasers information, credit amount, and date of sale does not match what was reported to the IRS.
- Vehicle VIN is missing from the return.
- The Vehicle is not eligible for the clean vehicle tax credit
- The Seller has not reported the clean vehicle sellers report to the IRS
To correct, review your clean vehicle sellers report provided by the seller to your tax return. Correct any missing or invalid entries. If the seller's report is correct, you will need to reach out to the seller to verify the report was submitted to the IRS. If you do not have a copy of the report, you will need to contact the seller to obtain a copy of the report and verify the vehicle is eligible for the credit.
