We purchased a new vehicle, and had a baby last year and were getting back quite a bit less than last year. Is there a reason why?

We received an inheritance last year, do we claim that?

For the new baby, you need to choose that the child lived with you all year, which is the correct answer for a child born during the year.  Return to the Personal Info tab, and scroll down to edit the dependents.

You only claim an inheritance if it included retirement funds, and you received a 1099-R for them in 2016.

For the new car, if you claim sales tax as a deduction instead of state income tax, you could add the sales tax on the car.  Enter the words sales tax in the Find box on the upper right, select sales tax, car and then Jump To
