We have been doing a kinship for a newborn since sept 19 baby was 6 weeks old, can we claim her on taxes as “since birth”? Biological mother has no rights.

No, an unrelated person must live in your home for the entire year to qualify as your dependent.

Thank you. She is extended family. Which is how we were able to get kinship if that changes anything. We however do not get paid foster benefits
