Was my completed 1040A filed without my signature?

I'm going to assume you filed by e-file, on one of the last pages it asked you to fill in your name and the date. That is considered as your Signature. If you had not filled in the name and Date, I would come back to you as "name and Social Security number don't match". I know, I signed my first name in the Last name line, so I signed mine as " Linda Linda", and it came back almost right away. I hope this helps you out.
