If you were married on December 31, 2016, you can only file Married Filing Joint, Married Filing Separate, or Head of household if you qualify.

Married Filing Joint is usually the most advantageous filing status followed by Head of Household.

As for the HOH, must I meet all 3 of criteria or just 1, I was paying 90%of the bills!
