I'm not sure what you mean by "safe", but it's normal to resubmit the efile after correcting the 2017 AGI. A rejected return is considered not to have been filed.

My return was rejected for incorrect EIN number. But it is correct. Only difference is a 'W' that is on the w-2 but can't be entered in the TT system. What do I do?
