Please explain --- "I got a check"--- for what? Do you mean you were claimed as someone else's dependent but you received a stimulus check? Or something else?
If you are talking about a stimulus payment, you can keep it. There is no obligation to return a stimulus payment that was sent by mistake.
Keep a record of the amount you received, and keep the letter that you get about it. You will have to report it on your 2020 tax return (that you file in 2012), but you will not have to repay it.
