What Federal forms are you waiting on?

You cannot efile a state return by itself if the Federal return has not been previously efiled and accepted. To efile the state return with TurboTax you'd need to wait and file the Federal and state returns at the same time.  Or if you later for some reason decided to file them separately, you'd still have to efile the Federal return first.

You should wait anyway, since any changes you make on your Federal return after whatever forms become available may flow to the state return and affect the calculations there on the state return as well.    That could save you from having to later amend the state return, which can sometimes be a chore.
