Hi,
I'm 66 years old and received $2400 from my SSA in 2021, do I need to file this income with my W2 income?
Thank you
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you are filing a tax return you include all of your income.
Enter your W-2 in Federal>Wages & Income
Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
And....there are over a dozen kinds of 1099's so we need to know what kind you have in order to help you with where to enter it.
And up to 85% of Social Security can be taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:
Married Filing Jointly: $32,000
Single or head of household: $25,000
Married Filing Separately: 0
