Venting about TurboTax Full Service Agent

I don't know how else to express my frustration with my assigned tax preparer (with 8 years experience) except to vent here. I apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum for this.

I had a CPA doing my taxes for the past few years. I have an LLC and some rental properties. Nothing really changed and I saw that TT offered the $150 first time Full Service deal. I took advantage of it. I also wanted to learn how it works and how it's done better, so I followed along on my own to try and get figures that lined up with the prior years (for things like depreciation and amortization) and current year values.

  • I signed up on January 5th.
  • I had everything ready to go by February 5th.
  • A month later on March 4th, the first draft and QRT is finally done.
  • I didn't get any estimates on how much my refund would be during that entire time.
  • There was the one TT issue with the depreciation for Schedule E not being available until the night of February 19th. The agent used this as an excuse for a delay with the preparation, however a week later they were still asking other non-related questions.
  • Now that I've reviewed the draft return, there were a couple minor discrepancies I provided feedback on. But the real kicker was with the depreciation deductions.
    • A couple of them were only a couple hundred dollars off.
    • One was off by over $1600 (TT said it was less than previous years with no changes to the property).
    • One was over $2700 off (TT said it was less). In fact, with this one, the last year partial depreciation was LESS than the current year deduction according to TT. Not only that, it was also the most expensive property of the bunch, but it had the LOWEST deduction. That should have raised at least someone's eyebrow. But it sailed through QRT.
    • Why does it take me (the customer) to catch things like this? What happens to other customers who don't know any better? Just leave them to TT's audit protection services? This has to be perfect because I'm at a higher risk of audit.

I've submitted all the corrections to the agent and am waiting for a revised draft to complete my review. But I'm very frustrated that I've had to spend hours going through this and trying to figure out what happened when I don't even have the 4562 worksheets for the Depreciation and Amortization Reports in my review draft.

UPDATE 3/5: Two of the minor revisions were correct, but the Schedule C for online sales got butchered and is now horribly messed up. And the Schedule E depreciations are EVEN WORSE NOW!

UPDATE 3/8: Three days later, the tax expert finally got back to me to say "let's schedule an appointment ASAP". And then their soonest available appointment is on Friday almost a week away. So now I have to wait until then to have this conversation and then wait even longer for QRT to re-go over my return???
