Used TT to submit extension and payment in April, started over, now TT doesn't recognize the original

At tax time (April, 2022), I accidentlay deleted my 2022 TurboTax data and had to start over.  I filed an extension along with a payment (I have a receipt and it says I submitted extension and 4868.  Since I started over to complete my 2021 taxes, TT does not recognize the 4868 and payement already made.  It is asking me if I want to file an extension.

How do I get TT to recognize the extension filed and payment made?

To enter, change or delete a payment made with an extension request (Federal, State, Local) -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  • On Income Taxes Paid, click on the start or update button

On the next screen select the type of extension payment made and click on the start or update button

Or enter federal extension payment in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to federal extension payment

It is not necessary for TurboTax to recognize that you filed the extension. The IRS knows that you filed the extension. Just make sure you enter the payment that you made. Follow the instructions from Critter-3 above.
