It seems as if TurboTax is pushing users to the web app by making the desktop experience intolerable. At first today I was told the update failed because I wasn't running TurboTax as an admin. Then I my second attempt the update started but then displayed "5 minutes remaining" for over 20 minutes before finally finishing.
I can understand why users with uncomplicated returns would opt for the web app, but I prefer the navigation and local storage of a desktop app, and it drives me crazy that user experience has degraded.
The update process never really tells you what you're getting nor does the program in general give you a clear schedule for when forms will be ready. As a result I have no idea when I'll be able to file. I'm beginning to feel more like a hostage than a customer. I could almost tolerate the delay in having the forms ready if Intuit would simply communicate the dates when forms will be ready so that I can set a schedule.

depends what you need but see this tool
Thank you. I wish the list was in the product. The particular forms I need, 4797 and Sched D are listed as available on that site, but when I go to enter the relevant info in TTax, the app says they are not ready.
@CatinaT1 @DoninGA any ideas on forms needed above
@AndyMarty if you don't get a response put in another issue with the specific form in the subject line it will get more attention, this forum seems pretty crazy at the moment.
