Assuming that (a) you had passed the substantial presence test by 2017 Dec 31st., (b) your J visas were terminated when you left the USA and (c) you have NO US connected income since your departure -- you can file form 1040 return ( supported by TurboTax ) covering your earnings covering the period Jan 1st through the day of your departure.
If you do have had or continue to have US sourced/connected income -- then you may also have to file a form 1040-NR ( not supported by TurboTax ) because you be filing as a dual status filer --- Sprintax is TurboTax partner for this type of return.
