We received unemployment checks in 2019 and 2020. We paid taxes on the 2019 unemployment funds. However, we paid back all of the funds received for unemployment in 2019 and 2020 in 2020. When completing our 2020 Tax return in TT, it allows us to reflect what was paid back in 2020 but it does not allow us to include the 2019 pay back. Accordingly, we paid taxes in 2019 on something that we've paid back. How do I get my 2019 taxes paid on the unemployment back.

If you repaid unemployment compensation in 2020 that you included in your income in 2019, you can deduct the taxes for the amount repaid on Schedule A (Form 1040), as "other expenses" if you itemize deductions.
