unable to transfer 2020 info to 2021 turbotax deluxe

I am unable to transfer 2020 tax info to turbotax deluxe 2021. I am using a new mac that has all files transferred from the mac I used last year. What am I doing wrong?

Until this year, I was able to choose the file from the list in turbotax. This year, I had to "find my file". It is a pdf, not txf. I went with the pdf and started the file for 2021. None of the info from 2020 is populating

You NEED the .tax file ... did you not move all the TT files to the new computer ?   Is it still on the thumb drive ?   If so move it to the hard drive where the program can find it ?

I transferred everything from the old to new computer, even the turbotax 2020 program. I can open the 2020 program and all numbers are there. Why can I not find a tax file except the pdf that I saved when I filed?

In order to import your 2020 information into your 2021 tax return, you will need the .tax file. Here is how you can find the .tax file in Mac.

The only .tax file I can find is from 2009. All other years are only .pdf.

I have the 2020 program installed on this computer and all my info is there. Is there a way to make it recreate the 2020 .tax file?

By default all TurboTax tax data file and saved PDF's are stored in the Documents director and in the TurboTax folder.  The tax data files will have a file extension in the format .taxyyyy where yyyy is the tax year, eg .tax2020 for tax year 2020, .tax2019 for tax year 2019, etc.

Search for these file types and also in the Recycle Bin if you are using a Windows based PC.

Hello - I used mac version deluxe when I filed 2020 and trying to do same for 2021. I do have .tax file and when I complete the transfer it will show a message "all files have been successfully transfer". However no information were transfer. PLEASE HELP!
