Unable to import from Fidelity - In a loop asking to login after successful browser login

I am having an issue.  I say import from Fidelity.  Turbotax Desktop opens a browser after asking to login to Intuit, asking for Fidelity login credentials.  I successfully login and it says I can go back to turbo tax now to import successfully.  When I go to Turbotax, it says click continue to import.  When I click continue, it asks for login again in a loop.

Unable to import from Fidelity - In a loop asking to login after successful browser login

I have the same problem but I found a workaround. The problem appears to be related to the default browser - I used Microsoft EDGE. When I switched my default browser to Firefox, I was able to download the Fidelity data.

Unable to import from Fidelity - In a loop asking to login after successful browser login

I was surprised, but can confirm this worked for me as well. I had the identical symptoms - import from Fidelity running in this same loop. Using Windows 11 virtual machine, initially with Safari (on Mac) as default browser. Then switched default to Windows 11 Edge and had the same symptoms. Installed Firefox and it works. What doesn't work is clearing caches, deleting cookies, turning off anti-virus, disabling pop-up blockers... none of that works. Edge doesn't work. Safari doesn't work, at least not if invoked from Windows. (Maybe Safari works from Mac edition of Turbo Tax? Haven't tried that.)  It's odd that this process isn't working from the default browser on Windows 11, which is what 99% of users will have installed. Maybe they will solve this when enough people complain. Give them time - the Fidelity forms were only available yesterday (a Saturday - not even a business day).

Unable to import from Fidelity - In a loop asking to login after successful browser login

Good morning.  I had the same problem yesterday (02/01/2026) trying to download my 2025 account documents.  I shutdown my VPN, etc., but I did not change my browser from EDGE.  I have been experiencing this problem for a few years, but before that the download process worked without issue.  My current Fidelity account documents are not overly complex and I can input the data manually, but this will start to change in 2026.  I have been using Turbo Tax since 1999, so I would hate to change products at this point in time.  So hopefully, Intuit will address.  Thanks.

Mine doesn't loop. It simply says import was successful and you can go back to turbotax. When I go back to turbotax none of my fidelity forms have been imported. I'm using Chrome.

Edit: Just fixed my problem. I told turbotax that I didn't have any income from Fidelity this year so it would start clean. Then I "added Investment income" and imported from Fidelity and it got everything from both my and my wife's accounts.

Try using a different browser.

Firefox worked for me. Thanks to all who suggested it.

I had to switch from Chrome to Firefox, after that - it then worked.    Really wish they went back to the old import process.

Also had an issue that the 1099r did not import, even though it shows up on fidelity.com.

Wow! It's understandable that Safari on Mac doesn't work when called from a Windows virtual machine, it makes very little sense that the default browser Edge wouldn't work and it's astounding that Chrome doesn't work since that's the one that is most recommended as compatible. While this is more likely an Intuit problem than a Fidelity one, Fidelity strongly recommends Chrome and it is really the only one that Fidelity considers compatible fully with their website.

This just fixed me (running Windows 11 with Edge). As soon as I Allowed Local Access it showed up in TurboTax. Makes sense, have to allow the specific site to interact with a Desktop App.

Unable to import from Fidelity - In a loop asking to login after successful browser login

thank you Steve! This worked for me. I am on Windows 11 and Edge.  Once I did this all was well. I didn't want to have to install a new browser.  Not sure how to boost your solution, but this was certainly the issue with mine.

Steve.   Thank you!!!

I use DuckDuckGo on Chrome so the process is slightly different

  • I click on the symbol to the left of https:/...., just like you did.
  • I then click on "Site Settings"
  • I then scroll to the bottom and see "Local network access"
  • I then toggle "Allow"

I had trouble making that change stick.  I think I solved it by doing this on the TurboTax webpage that you show in your screenshot.  That webpage told me to do something like click Yes to reload, something like that.

As well, this fixed my problem when importing from Charles Schwab and E*Trade.

Yes!  Thank you @SteveMat - I was able to download the forms using my Vivaldi browser.
