Unable to edit the Incorrect Phone number showing up under Contact information in Preferences.

My old inactive Phone number showing up under Contact information in Preferences. I am unable to change or edit it.  When I try to Connect for Live Help it shows the old number and when I change it to current number, the system encounters technical difficulties!!!

Tired to reach out to TurboTax Help but have not been able to resolve it.

To update this, you have to bypass the standard login screen. Check if you have a backup verification method enabled.

1. On the screen asking for the code, select the small blue link that says Try something else.
2. If you see an option for Email, select it. You can receive the code via your verified email address.
3. Once logged in, go immediately to Intuit Account > Sign in & Security and update your Phone section with the new number.

If that doesn't work you will have to do a manual review by the Intuit security team to verify your identity.

Go to this link, Intuit Account Recovery Request. You will need a high-quality photo of your Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport. You will select that you are updating your Phone Number.

I am able to access my account.  I followed your suggestions but still cannot edit/update the old phone number that shows under Contact Info section under my profile, and that incactive number is what shows up when I try to connect to Live Help!

@rvandshamala When you accessed your Intuit Account and clicked on Sign & Security, your phone number should have been shown in the Sign in info box.  When you clicked on your phone number you should have then gone to the screen with your phone number listed along with options for text message, voice message or both.  The phone number that is presented should have a link labeled Change to the right of the phone number.  What happens when you click on that link?
